Greg met with me for the first time when I realized I was not going to do well on an exam the next day. Not only did he make sure I understood every concept that was going to be in the exam, he stayed until 11:30pm until he believed that I was prepared. The exceptional help I received from Greg turned anxiety and certainty of doom and/or failure on my GRE into a score I was grateful to receive. After not having studied any of the math on the GRE since high school and a poorly organized GRE prepatory course that did not jog my memory, I felt hopeless…I contacted Greg with only a week and a half until my exam date, and he managed to help me bring my score up by over 100 points. Hi there! My name is Greg Stanton. I’ve been offering math tutoring in Bloomington, Indiana since 2008. I started Higher Math Help in the beginning of 2009.
Before that, I worked as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University in Bloomington for several math courses, including Finite Mathematics (M118), Brief Survey of Calculus I (M119), and Pre-Calculus Mathematics (M025).
During the summers (2007, 2008, and 2009), I designed and taught high school algebra and geometry courses on the Bloomington campus for the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Upward Bound program.
I’ve tutored Bloomington students in a wide range of math courses and standardized tests. Additional qualifications and my tutoring philosophy are described on my About page.
I use a tutoring format that allows students to privately view video recordings of all sessions whenever they like! I began focusing on this format during the fall of 2013, and I now use it exclusively.
Since the tutoring takes place online, students can work with me when they’re away from campus. I’m also able to continue the math tutoring in Bloomington, Indiana from my new location in Colorado.
